What is a PWA?

A progressive web app (PWA) is a website built to behave like an app: it can be added to the home screen, open full screen and keep working offline. It runs in the browser's engine, so the same code works on any device with a modern browser.

More about PWA

On iPhone, a PWA is added from Safari's Share menu rather than the App Store, and it runs on WebKit. Since iOS 16.4, home-screen web apps can receive web push notifications, but a PWA still can't use most of Apple's native frameworks, and it can't be listed on the App Store as it is.

PWA with Borel

Borel makes native iPhone apps instead: written in Swift with SwiftUI, put on your iPhone with Borel Companion, and published to the App Store when you're ready.
