What is an in-app purchase?

An in-app purchase (IAP) is a payment made inside an iPhone app through Apple's own system. Apple has four kinds: consumables such as coins, non-consumables unlocked once, auto-renewable subscriptions and non-renewing subscriptions. Apps on the App Store use In-App Purchase to sell digital content and features.

More about In-app purchase

Apple takes the payment, handles refunds and pays the developer, keeping a commission: usually 15% for developers in its Small Business Program and 30% otherwise. Selling needs a membership in the Apple Developer Program.

In-app purchase with Borel

Set up a paid plan from Payments in Borel's chat, and Borel writes the paywall in Swift with StoreKit, with Apple's own prices and Restore Purchases. When you publish, Borel creates the products at Apple for you, and Apple pays what your app earns to your own developer account.
