What is Liquid Glass?

Liquid Glass is the design language Apple introduced in 2025 with iOS 26 and its other new releases. Tab bars, toolbars, buttons and other controls are made of a translucent material that reflects and bends the content behind it and reacts to touch. Apple called it its broadest software design update ever.

More about Liquid Glass

Apps built with Apple's own controls in SwiftUI or UIKit pick up much of the look when they are built for iOS 26. Apps that draw their own controls, or live inside a web view, have to recreate it themselves.

Liquid Glass with Borel

Apps built with Borel use SwiftUI's own tabs, lists, sheets and navigation, so on iOS 26 they get the floating Liquid Glass tab bar, and on earlier iOS the familiar one, with no extra work from you.
