What is MapKit?

MapKit is Apple's framework for putting Apple Maps inside an app. It draws the map, pins and overlays, handles pinch and pan, and can search for places and plan routes. It works with Core Location, which tells the app where the device is, with the person's permission.

More about MapKit

In SwiftUI, a whole map is a single Map view. A native app using MapKit needs no separate API key or map billing account, unlike many web map services. Tapping a place can hand off to the Maps app for turn-by-turn directions.

MapKit with Borel

Describe the places your app is about, and Borel writes it in Swift with MapKit and Core Location: a real Apple Map with pins, where you are on it, and how far away things are.
