What is vibe coding?
Vibe coding is building software by describing what you want to an AI in plain language, trying what it makes and asking for changes, rather than writing the code yourself. The AI researcher Andrej Karpathy coined the term in February 2025, and it quickly became the name for prompt-driven app making.
More about Vibe coding
It works best when the result can be tried at once, so the person steers by what they see. Tools for it range from AI features inside code editors to app builders that keep the code out of sight entirely.
Vibe coding with Borel
Borel is vibe coding for native iPhone apps. You describe the app, Borel writes it in SwiftUI and builds it with Xcode on its own Mac, and you try it on a live iPhone Simulator in your browser. Then you keep changing it in plain words.
