What is React Native?
React Native is an open-source framework from Meta for building mobile apps with JavaScript and React. Its components become real iOS and Android views, so one codebase can serve both platforms. Facebook released it in 2015.
More about React Native
Many tools that make mobile apps with AI generate React Native, often with Expo. Whatever React Native doesn't cover is added through native modules written in Swift, Objective-C, Kotlin or Java. For iPhone, a React Native app is still compiled with Xcode and published on the App Store like any other.
React Native with Borel
Borel doesn't use React Native: it writes your iPhone app in Swift with SwiftUI, Apple's own toolkit, and builds it with Xcode on its own Mac. The SwiftUI or React Native guide explains the difference in plain words.
