Wix to iPhone app
Turn your Wix site into a real iPhone app
Borel turns a Wix site into a native iPhone app written in Swift. Paste your site's address, and Borel reads your business's name, colours, logo and content, photographs the home page and designs an app around them, screen by screen. You test it on a real iOS Simulator, install it on your iPhone and publish it to the App Store under your own name.

Wix
What does Wix make?
Wix is a website builder for small businesses, shops, restaurants and creators. A site starts at a free address in the form siteprefix.wixsite.com/siteaddress, and most businesses connect their own domain.
Content that changes, like menus, listings or portfolios, lives in CMS collections, Wix's databases for text, images and video.
The iPhone question
Doesn't Wix sell its own branded app?
It does. Wix's branded app is a native app in the stores, built from Wix's own app framework and sold as a Mobile App Premium plan on top of your site plan, with Apple's developer fee extra. Wix's FAQ also says that app needs an online connection.
The trade-off is that the app stays tied to the plan: Wix's support page says it removes your app from the stores if the plan ends. Borel takes another path. It writes an app of your own in Swift, designed around what your customers do, with code you can download.
Apple's rule
Why a rebuild beats a wrapper
Apple reviews every app before it reaches the App Store, and a website in an app's frame is what its guideline 4.2 is about.
“Your app should include features, content, and UI that elevate it beyond a repackaged website. If your app is not particularly useful, unique, or “app-like,” it doesn’t belong on the App Store.”
Borel never wraps your Wix site. It writes a separate app in Swift with SwiftUI, Apple’s own language and interface framework, so the screens, scrolling and controls are the iPhone’s.
Step by step
How to turn your Wix site into an iPhone app
- 1
Copy your Wix address
Your own domain or the wixsite.com link, in full with https://. Borel opens it the way a customer would.
- 2
Tell Borel what customers do
Use the prompt below. Book a table, browse the menu, save favourites: name it. Add screenshots of other pages, four per message.
- 3
Borel designs the native app
Your logo, colours and real items come from the site, the home page is photographed in two sizes, and SwiftUI screens are built for each job.
- 4
Hold it in your hand
Try every screen in the iOS Simulator in your browser, free. Borel Companion, on Pro, installs it on your iPhone to show your team.
- 5
Publish under your name
With Pro and your Apple Developer account, Borel builds, signs and uploads the app to App Store Connect. Your Wix site carries on as it is.
Your first message
A prompt to start from
Put your address where it says, fill in the brackets, and send it as your first message.
Make a native iPhone app for my business's Wix site at <your address>. Use our name, logo, colours and real items from the site. Customers can [what they do], save favourites and make an account with email.
Moving over
What moves over, and what is made new
Borel works from what your app shows, the screenshots you add and the words you write. It doesn't copy code or accounts out of another platform.
| In your Wix site | In the iPhone app |
|---|---|
| Brand | Moves over. Business name, logo and colours from your Wix site. |
| Menus, listings and items | Moves over. Real items and prices the page shows become the app's first content. |
| Words | Moves over. From the page, in the language your site is written in. |
| Wix Bookings, Forms and galleries | Made new. Rebuilt as native screens when the app needs them; nothing is read from your dashboard. |
| Site members | Made new. Customers sign up in the iPhone app with email and password. |
| CMS collections | Made new. The app keeps its own copy in Borel's cloud database. |
| Your Wix site and plan | Stays. Unchanged, and not needed by the app. |
Frequently asked questions
No. Wix's app is built on its own framework and tied to a Mobile App Premium plan. Borel writes a separate app in Swift with SwiftUI, designed around your business, and you can download its code.
Borel only shows what your site shows: it never invents a price or an opening hour. Where your site has none, the app has none until you add them.
No. Borel reads your public site and nothing else, so your Wix account stays yours alone.
The app can keep requests, lists and accounts in Borel's cloud, and sell digital extras through Apple's in-app purchases. Tell Borel how your bookings work and it builds the screens for them.
Try it on the free plan's daily credits and the free iOS Simulator. Putting it on your phone and on the App Store comes with Pro, plus Apple's $99 a year.
