Framer to iPhone app
Turn your Framer site into a real iPhone app
Borel turns a Framer site into a native iPhone app that keeps the look you worked on. Paste the framer.app address or your domain, and Borel photographs the page, picks up its colours, type and logo, and builds the app in SwiftUI. You try it on a real iOS Simulator in your browser, put it on your phone and publish it to the App Store.

Framer
What does Framer make?
Framer is a website builder made for designers, with an AI design agent and hosting, a CMS, analytics and SEO built in. Sites come out polished, with motion and layout most builders can't match.
Publishing gives every site a framer.app address straight away, and you can point your own domain at it.
The iPhone question
Why isn't there a Framer app export?
Framer builds websites, and it says so on its home page. There's no setting that compiles a Framer project into an iPhone app; on a phone, your site is a responsive page in Safari.
The marketplace has third-party plugins that package a site for phones, which is the wrapper route Apple's guideline 4.2 is wary of. A portfolio or a launch page in an app frame gives reviewers little that Safari doesn't already.
Apple's rule
Why a rebuild beats a wrapper
Apple reviews every app before it reaches the App Store, and a website in an app's frame is what its guideline 4.2 is about.
“Your app should include features, content, and UI that elevate it beyond a repackaged website. If your app is not particularly useful, unique, or “app-like,” it doesn’t belong on the App Store.”
Borel never wraps your Framer site. It writes a separate app in Swift with SwiftUI, Apple’s own language and interface framework, so the screens, scrolling and controls are the iPhone’s.
Step by step
How to turn your Framer site into an iPhone app
- 1
Copy the framer.app URL
Or your custom domain. Paste the full link, https:// first, so Borel can open it.
- 2
Brief Borel on the app
Send the prompt below and say what someone does in the app. Attach pictures of the sections you like most, up to four with each message.
- 3
Built in SwiftUI, styled by you
Borel snaps the first screen as an iPhone and a laptop would show it, lifts the palette, type and logo, and composes native screens in that style.
- 4
Feel it under your thumb
Tap through in the iOS Simulator, streamed from Borel's Mac at no cost, and judge the motion. Borel Companion, on Pro, then puts it on your iPhone.
- 5
Send it to the App Store
Once you're on Pro and in Apple's Developer Program, Borel compiles, signs and delivers the build to App Store Connect.
Your first message
A prompt to start from
Put your address where it says, fill in the brackets, and send it as your first message.
Make a native iPhone app styled like my Framer site at <your address>. Keep its colours, type, logo and tone. The app lets people [what they do]. Use a tab bar for [sections] and smooth SwiftUI transitions between screens.
Moving over
What moves over, and what is made new
Borel works from what your app shows, the screenshots you add and the words you write. It doesn't copy code or accounts out of another platform.
| In your Framer site | In the iPhone app |
|---|---|
| Look and feel | Moves over. Palette, type, logo and the mood of your hero, from the published page. |
| Sections | Moves over. The ones you show become tabs and screens. |
| Copy and tone | Moves over. Read from the site; anything else, paste in the chat. |
| Framer animations | Made new. Re-created with SwiftUI's own transitions, which feel right on an iPhone. |
| CMS items | Made new. Starter content from the page, then stored in Borel's cloud. |
| What the app does | Made new. Accounts, saving, AI features or a tool of your own, written in Swift. |
| The Framer site | Stays. Live on framer.app or your domain. |
Frequently asked questions
It looks like your brand on an iPhone. Borel keeps colours, type, logo and feel, and uses native navigation instead of copying a web layout, which is what makes it feel like a real app.
Yes. Ask for changes in plain words, like "make the cards bigger" or "use our accent on the tab bar", and watch each one land in the simulator.
No. It only opens the published page. Nothing in your Framer account is touched.
Something worth installing: a member area, a tool your customers use, a catalogue people save from, or AI help built on your content. Apple's review asks for that, and Borel can build each of them natively.
Yes. Borel writes Swift with SwiftUI, and the project downloads to open in Xcode.
