Bubble to iPhone app

Turn your Bubble app into a real iPhone app

Borel turns a Bubble web app into a native iPhone app written in Swift. Paste your app's address and Borel studies the live page, keeps your branding and lays out every screen again with SwiftUI. You don't redraw anything in a second editor: you chat, try the app on a real iOS Simulator, and publish to the App Store with code you can download.

Bubble

What does Bubble make?

Bubble is a visual no-code platform for building apps for the web and for phones. A web app you make there runs at yourapp.bubbleapps.io, or on your own domain once you connect one.

Every Bubble app comes with its own database, one for development and one for live, plus the workflows that move data around, all hosted by Bubble.

The iPhone question

Doesn't Bubble already build mobile apps?

It does, on its own terms. Bubble's mobile builder makes React Native apps, and its manual still describes it as having arrived as a public beta. Your existing web pages don't turn into mobile screens: you lay the mobile views out again in that editor.

That route keeps one backend for web and mobile, which is handy. It also keeps the app on Bubble: the manual says Bubble apps run only on the Bubble platform and can't be exported as code. If you're rebuilding the screens anyway, Borel's rebuild gives you Swift that is yours.

Apple's rule

Why a rebuild beats a wrapper

Apple reviews every app before it reaches the App Store, and a website in an app's frame is what its guideline 4.2 is about.

“Your app should include features, content, and UI that elevate it beyond a repackaged website. If your app is not particularly useful, unique, or “app-like,” it doesn’t belong on the App Store.”
App Store Review Guidelines, 4.2 Minimum Functionality, Apple

Borel never wraps your Bubble app. It writes a separate app in Swift with SwiftUI, Apple’s own language and interface framework, so the screens, scrolling and controls are the iPhone’s.

Step by step

How to turn your Bubble app into an iPhone app

  • 1

    Copy your Bubble app's link

Use the live version's address, on bubbleapps.io or your own domain, with https:// in front. Borel opens the page a logged-out visitor sees.

  • 2

    Describe it to Borel

Start with the prompt below. Bubble apps often hide most screens behind a login, so attach screenshots of them, four to a message.

  • 3

    SwiftUI replaces the canvas

Borel reads your brand and text, photographs the start page in two sizes, and writes native screens: groups become lists, popups become sheets.

  • 4

    Run it before you commit

Open the build in Apple's iOS Simulator right in your browser, without paying. Install it on your iPhone with Borel Companion, on Pro, when you want it in your hand.

  • 5

Go live on the App Store

With a Pro plan and your own Apple Developer account, Borel prepares the signed build and uploads it to App Store Connect for review.

Your first message

A prompt to start from

Put your address where it says, fill in the brackets, and send it as your first message.

Paste into Borel’s chat
Make a native iPhone app of my Bubble app at <your address>. Keep the brand colours, logo and wording. Its data types are [list them], and each becomes a list and a detail screen. Users sign up with email. Workflows to keep: [describe them].

Moving over

What moves over, and what is made new

Borel works from what your app shows, the screenshots you add and the words you write. It doesn't copy code or accounts out of another platform.

What moves from Bubble to the iPhone app
In your Bubble appIn the iPhone app
StyleMoves over. Colours, logo and fonts read from your live Bubble page.
Pages, groups and popupsMoves over. Rebuilt as iPhone screens, lists and sheets from the page and your screenshots.
TextMoves over. What the public page shows, and anything you paste.
Data types and thingsMade new. Declared again as tables in Borel's cloud. Your Bubble records stay in Bubble.
WorkflowsMade new. Described in plain words, written as Swift. Nothing is read from the Bubble editor.
UsersMade new. New accounts in the iPhone app, by email and password.
Your Bubble web appStays. Unchanged, on Bubble's hosting.

Frequently asked questions

Both mean laying the mobile screens out again. Bubble's route gives a React Native app that lives on Bubble. Borel's gives a Swift app that you can download and keep, built by describing it instead of dragging elements.

No. Borel sees the published page, not the editor. Tell it what each workflow does in a sentence, like "when an order is placed, mark it pending and show it under Orders", and it writes that behaviour in Swift.

Out of the box it uses its own database in Borel's cloud. If your data is reachable through an API that takes a key, save the key under Tools › Keys after the first build and ask Borel to read from it.

No. You describe changes in the chat and watch them land in the simulator. The Swift is there to download if you or a developer ever want it.

Yes. Borel never touches your Bubble app, so your web users carry on while the iPhone app goes through review.

Paste your Bubble link
