Your own Streaks-style habit tracker on your iPhone

Streaks keeps a short grid of daily tasks and rewards an unbroken run. If you want different rules, more habits than the grid holds or a look that's all yours, describe your habits to Borel. It writes a native iPhone habit app in Swift; you try it in a live iPhone in your browser, then keep it on your own phone.

Updated . Borel isn’t connected to Streaks.

A prompt to start from
“A habit tracker with a grid of round icons, morning habits on top and evening ones below. Each habit has a target: daily, 3 times a week, or 20 minutes. Timed habits start a countdown and tick themselves when it ends. A walking habit ticks itself at 8,000 steps from the phone's step counter. Show the streak under each icon and a year heat map.”

About Streaks

What people like about Streaks

In our words, from what Streaks says about itself.

  • A clear grid of up to 24 daily tasks, each with its own icon and streak.
  • Negative tasks for breaking a habit, built-in timers and a note for each day.
  • 78 colour themes, some of them seasonal with animated backgrounds.

Streaks sells itself as a one-time purchase with no subscription. Its site doesn't show the price; the App Store lists it in your currency.

Made for you

What your own habit tracker can do

What the prompt above builds, and what you can change by asking Borel in plain words.

  • Rules you set

Three times a week counts as a streak, an ill day pauses it, or two misses in a row end it.

  • Room for every habit

Group them into morning and evening instead of fitting everything on a single grid.

  • Timed habits

A countdown for "stretch 10 minutes" that ticks the habit off by itself when it reaches zero.

  • Steps from the phone itself

A walking habit can tick itself once the iPhone's own motion sensor has counted enough steps.

Said plainly

How it's different

  • It doesn't read from or write to the Health app; steps come from the iPhone's motion sensor instead.
  • There's no home screen widget and no Apple Watch app, so you tick habits inside the app.
  • Nobody else sees your progress: the habits stay on your phone.
  • Your app isn't Streaks and won't look or work like it: it has only what you ask Borel to build, and none of Streaks's own content.
  • Your data stays in your own app: on your iPhone by default, or in your app's own database in Borel's cloud if you add accounts.

How to get yours

From the prompt to your home screen

  • 1

    Start from the prompt

Change anything in it first: names, rules, screens. Borel asks what it needs to know, then writes the app in Swift and SwiftUI.

  • 2

    Use it in your browser

It opens in a live iPhone simulator streamed from Borel's Mac, at no cost. Building starts free, with 5 free credits a day, up to 30 a month.

  • 3

    Keep it on your iPhone

With Pro, from $20 a month, Borel Companion installs it with a free Apple ID, up to 3 apps at a time, and renews each one every 7 days while it runs.

Frequently asked questions

Make your own when you want rules or screens Streaks doesn't offer. If it already fits the way you live, it's a fine app to keep.

Yes. Ask for timed habits and Borel adds a countdown that ticks the habit off when time runs out, with a haptic tap.

Yes. Ask for a pause button; paused days neither count nor break the run.

Yes. Describe a palette, an icon style or a seasonal look, and Borel restyles the app in SwiftUI for light and dark mode.
