Lovable alternative

A Lovable alternative for native iPhone apps

If you like building with Lovable but want an app people install from the App Store, Borel is the alternative made for that. You describe the app in a chat the same way, and Borel writes it in Swift with SwiftUI, runs it in the iOS Simulator in your browser and publishes it to the App Store, with no wrapper and no Mac.

Lovable

Who is Lovable for?

Lovable is a chat-first builder for web applications. You describe a product, it writes a React app, and you publish it to a web address in a click. For a landing page, an internal tool or a SaaS dashboard that lives in the browser, that's a quick and pleasant way to work.

It also comes with a backend of its own, with a database, sign-in, storage and AI, so a web app can go from idea to working product without leaving the chat.

The iPhone question

Where does Lovable stop for an iPhone app?

The end result is a website. Lovable's own publishing docs say it has no built-in flow to package a project and submit it to the App Store, and that it doesn't turn a project into a native app. Their suggested routes are an installable web app, or wrapping the published address in a Capacitor shell outside Lovable.

That's a lot of extra work if what you wanted from the start was an iPhone app: a second toolchain, a native shell built with Xcode, which runs only on a Mac, and a web page inside an app frame at the end, which Apple's review guidelines ask to be more than a repackaged website.

Borel

What Borel does differently

  • Native from the first message

Borel writes Swift and SwiftUI, Apple's own language and framework, and Xcode compiles it on Borel's Mac. There's no web layer to wrap.

  • A real iPhone preview

Every build opens in the iOS Simulator, streamed into your browser. You tap through the real app, free on every plan.

  • The iPhone's own features

Face ID, the camera, Apple Maps, haptics and in-app purchases come straight from Apple's frameworks, with the permission text written for you.

  • The App Store from the browser

On Pro, Borel builds, signs and uploads the app to App Store Connect under your account. No Capacitor, no Xcode of your own.

Switching

How to switch from Lovable to Borel

  • 1

    Bring your prompt

Paste the description you gave Lovable into Borel's chat, and say it's for iPhone. Borel plans the screens with you before it builds.

  • 2

    Or bring your site

If your Lovable app is published, paste its address. Borel reads the site and builds a native SwiftUI app from it, in your colours and words.

  • 3

    Try it, then ship it

Tap through it in the iOS Simulator, put it on your iPhone with Borel Companion, and publish to the App Store when it's ready.

Choose Borel if…

  • You want an app on the App Store, not a website in a wrapper.
  • You want Face ID, the camera or haptics without native plugins.
  • You want to see the real iPhone app while you build it.
  • You'd rather not set up Capacitor, Xcode and a Mac.

Frequently asked questions

You can bring the idea, the prompt or the published site, and Borel builds a native SwiftUI version. It doesn't import React code: an iPhone app in Swift is written differently, so Borel writes it fresh from what your app does.

Yes. Borel doesn't touch your Lovable project or its web address. Many people keep the website for the browser and add a native iPhone app beside it.

Yes, in the way it feels: you describe what you want and ask for changes in plain words. What you watch is different. Each change lands in an iPhone app running in the iOS Simulator, not a web page.

Yes. Every Borel app comes with Borel AI, accounts with email and password, a cloud database and file storage, all run by Borel with no keys to paste.

Nothing to start: Borel's free plan gives 5 free credits a day, up to 30 a month, and the iOS Simulator is free. Pro, from $20 a month, adds installing on your iPhone and publishing to the App Store.
